Web UI Developer


12 Months (2000 hours S/T and 200 O/T per year)

1.    Web Applications Development
     a.    Design, implement, and maintain modern responsive web application user interfaces that adhere to and leverage a Service Oriented Architecture infrastructure, often in collaboration with other team members.
     b.    Ensure applications and operations are ready and able to be effectively monitored using automated methods.
     c.    Troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to the team’s applications.
     d.    Serve as a resource for team members for technology questions and best practices. 
     e.    Develop and execute project plans with measurable milestones.
     f.    Other development duties as required.
2.    Conduct of Work and Procedure Adherence
     a.    Utilize SRNS IT Policies, Procedures, Standards and Guides such as software, configuration, and project management policies. 
3.    Business Analysis
     a.    Understand customer priorities and objectives and take an active role in accomplishing these objectives. 
     b.    Analyze business and technical requirements and design solutions that meet those needs while conforming to enterprise architecture standards.
4.    Participation in other ITS groups
     a.    Review ITS Morning Meeting results and upcoming changes with the goal of knowing what is going into production and what could cause problems.  Identify possible problem areas or communication needs.
5.    Communication
     a.    Actively manage and improve customer relationships through regular communications, timely completion of agreed-upon milestones, and service reliability. 
     b.    Keep customers informed of global problems, problem progress, scheduled downtime, or anything that affects their system(s).
     c.    Transmit feedback from customers to other ITS areas or management.
     d.    Keep peers and manager informed of trends, significant problems, unexpected delays, and anything new in the environment.



Position requires a 4-year degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline with 2 years proven performance in related assignment(s); or a non-related 4 year degree with 4 years proven performance in related assignment(s); or a 2 year degree with 6 years proven performance in related assignment(s).  In lieu of degree, a high school diploma and at least 5-7 additional years of relevant information technology experience is acceptable.  


Degree and direct experience as a commercial web developer, as specified in the above education/experience scale, with the following demonstrated knowledge and abilities: 
•    Technical– Has ability to learn technical product information quickly and accurately.  Has demonstrable knowledge of, and hands-on experience with: 
     a.    Building responsive web application user interfaces using AngularJS to leverage a REST  API back-end.
     b.    Expert knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, javascript, AJAX, jQuery.
     c.    Modern javascript programming patterns and practices, such as client-side MVC, dynamic resource loading, CORS/JSONP, event-driven programming, etc. 
     d.    Wire-framing/Mockups of web application designs.
     e.    Bootstrap or similar for responsive web design.
      f.    Converting visual designs to HTML, with an acute eye for optimal user experience and design fidelity.
     g.    Tooling for disciplined Software Development Lifecycle Management, e.g. source control, automated build and deployment, etc.
     h.    Facility with Web Developer tooling such as Chrome Developer Tools, or similar.
      i.    Some experience with programming languages other than javascript (Java is preferred).  
     j.    Windows OS Platforms, Microsoft Office, and Data Networks Fundamentals.

Physical Demands: 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to sit; use hands and fingers, handle, feel objects, and type on keyboard; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work in a cubical exposed to normal noise level in the work environment. 

Work Hours:

A 40 hour work week is scheduled.  The prevailing schedule is four (4) ten (10) hour days, Monday to Thursday, though other schedules are considered. The work week excludes SRS holidays.  Each work day has a 30-minute lunch.

Area Security Access:

A security clearance is not initially required; however, candidate must be a United States citizen capable of obtaining an L or Q clearance if required to perform assigned duties.

Performance Requirements:
Developer must be able to complete project milestones with less than 10% variance in commitment dates.
